Danny Torrance from The Shining in his Apollo 11 sweatshirt

Apparel inspired by the movie The Shining

Stanley Kubrick’s cult classic “The Shining” has inspired many creative works since it’s release, which includes inspiring ASTROBOT.

Danny’s Apollo 11 sweatshirt has always been an interesting topic of significance in the movie. When he stands up, it looks like the rocket is lifting off, leading some to believe this is a Kubrick hint that he faked the moon landing.

ASTROBOT, of course, loves and believes the brave Americans who put their footprint in the surface of the moon. But the concept that Kubrick faked it in a studio is fascinating regardless.

The many things he has hidden in the movie make it one of my all time favorites.

I created these imagining I was the designer from the line that made Danny’s original sweater. In truth it was mad made for the movie. But in the real world where Danny would have bought it, what would be cool?

Buzz Aldrin Quote

Buzz Aldrin continues to inspire

Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong have been powerful sources for inspiration all over the world.
The things our American astronauts have done and continue to do amazes me. Buzz is still dreaming big with his eyes on colonizing Mars.
Having just finally seen The Martian, I’m not so sure that’s the best idea I’ve ever heard. Maybe we should start with the moon?
I don’t know, it has less gravity than earth, leaving it’s orbit would be faster and cheaper. Maybe launch from there to Mars and other worlds.
Just thinking out loud.
The biggest benefit of Apollo was the inspiration it gave to a growing generation to get into science and aerospace. Buzz Aldrin
I would like to pay tribute to the men who were lucky and brave enough to set foot on the moon.
To commemorate them ASTROBOT is releasing another Experimental Jetset design homage featuring the American moon walkers.
